Wave Bye To Mosquitoes
I have started living in a tier 2 city. This city is located alongside
the northern part of the western ghats. Its elevation is 2572 ft and usually,
the temperature will be min 12 °C and 28 °C max. It has a tropical
savanna climate. It has a pleasant year-round climate. It rains
heavily from June to September.
As it receives rains thought out the monsoon and a lot of infrastructure
projects are going on roadside ditches will be filled with water for
weeks. This is a good spot for mosquitoes. Mosquitoes breed by laying
eggs in stagnant water. And within no time you will feel its presence
in houses, parks, temples, hotels, hospitals, and almost everywhere.
Once you get the company of mosquitoes, You can not live peacefully. I
have an even bigger problem. I have a small garden just beside the home
office. As I spend more time in a home office, it is painful. I do not
know what kind of mosquitoes are visiting my office.
I tried many mosquito repellents but none were very effective. I started
researching what attracts mosquitoes. Surprisingly, I found tons
of research papers available on this subject.
Almost every researcher, interested in mosquitoes, are found carbon
dioxide is the star attraction of mosquitoes. Mosquitoes detect changes
in carbon dioxide in their surrounding environment.
Now I am aware of the problem and is about finding a solution. I have
started looking for a co2 controller. And the solution is much simpler. That
is camphor. Put 8–10 camphor balls. It will be a good air freshener and
great mosquito repellent. I used Bhimseni camphor. It is much better
and easily available here.
Now I have one less problem and am productive now :-)
